Set in the leafy inner-easter Melbourne suburb of Malvern, this residence with its monolithic façade and centrally pitched glass atrium was once a cutting edge design by the renowned Australian Architect, Peter McIntyre in the 1980s. Working together with Studio Doherty, it was important that the flamboyance and extravagance of 80s architecture was retained while bringing the residence into the future for contemporary modern living.
DESIGN STRATEGY
MODERN LIVING
While the skeleton of the original design remains, the interior was reconfigured to accommodate today’s modern families, creating a harmonious flow throughout, and introducing natural light for easy living.

ENHANCING EFFICIENCY & COMFORT
“What I loved most about this project was reinvigorating a great piece of architecture without taking away the original angels, which is why we went with the curved design that brings your focus to the glass atrium.” – Ari Karsarian, Creative Director
